Winter is set to bite back next week as colder conditions develop across Ireland.
The present mild and relatively dry spell of weather will transition to colder weather as high pressure draws in colder air from the east.
Temperatures will dip from highs of 14-15c on Sunday to 5-7c by Tuesday with the risk of overnight frosts increasing from Monday night.
After some scattered outbreaks of rain on Friday and Saturday of this week, our weather will turn drier with good drying conditions throughout next week.
Any precipitation will be the result of showers moving down across Ireland on a north to northeast breeze. Showers will be mainly of rain but falls of sleet or snow are likely on mountains.
