The weather will become more unsettled from Thursday through Saturday as frontal systems bring scattered outbreaks of rain across Ireland.
While much of Ireland has experienced dry conditions in recent days, some light rain and drizzle has affected the northwest and north and will continue to so ahead of unsettled conditions becoming more widespread on Thursday evening. Showers or longer spells of rain will continue through Saturday before drier weather once again takes hold as high pressure builds to the northwest of Ireland. Showers will become more isolated on Sunday and much of the following week will remain dry away from western and southwestern coastal fringes where some frontal systems may bring scattered outbreaks of rain at times.
Rainfall totals will be highest in Atlantic coastal counties and in south Leinster, while amounts will be lower in east Leinster, east Ulster and the Midlands. Temperatures will remain above average up to and including Monday and could reach 15c in places on Sunday. Temperatures will drop back to 7-9c from Tuesday. Overnight frosts could develop once again from Monday night as temperatures drop close to freezing, particularly in inland parts of Leinster, Ulster and east Munster.
