Extensive cloud cover has extended across all but east Ulster this afternoon as scattered outbreaks of rain develop in western counties.
Overall precipitation amounts will be low overall with some parts of east Leinster staying dry.
Further rain is expected during Friday and Saturday, but amounts will be low overall. It will turn direr on Sunday and into next week with plenty of sunshine for all parts of Ireland.
It will also turn colder also with maximum daytime temperatures of 6-8c as Arctic air becomes established over Ireland by Tuesday.
