The southern half of Ireland and a few spots in east Ulster enjoyed the best of any sunny periods on Monday, while parts of the north and west remained overcast with a few spots of drizzle.
There were largely clear skies over West Cork and South Kerry when the Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellite passed over Ireland at 11.30am.
Temperatures will drop to 0c to 3c under clear skies tonight, but will be 5-9c in the north and northwest where overcast conditions persist.
Another mild day ahead for Tuesday with temperatures ranging from 9c to 12c. Sunny breaks are once again most likely in Munster and Leinster, while some light rain will develop in the northwest later in the day.
