Wind warning issued for three counties in Ulster


The UK Met Office has issued a Status Yellow Wind Warning for Antrim, Armagh and Down for Friday. 

The Met Office says strong and gusty southerly winds may cause disruption to transport and infrastructure.

The alert is in place from 6.00am to 10.00am on Friday. 

No weather warnings have yet been issued by Met Éireann, which says heavy rain will be accompanied by strong and gusty southerly winds on Thursday night into Friday. 

The latest Arpege model output suggests southerly winds gusting from 90 to 100 km/h + on Thursday night into Friday.

Widespread gusts of 100-110km/h+ are expected through Sunday.
