1963: The Big Freeze continues with heavy snow showers affecting eastern and southeastern counties. Overnight lows dip to -5c.


2009: Many roads around the country are impassable after heavy snow and freezing temperatures. East Munster, Donegal and Leinster are worst affected.


2014: The latest in a series of winter storms tracking close to our over Ireland brings strong gale force westerly winds.


2022: Spring tides after a full moon, heavy rain, gale force southerly winds and low pressure all contribute to the highest water levels on the River Liffey in Dublin since 1924.
