1947: Strong easterly winds and subzero temperatures bring snowfall to Ireland.

1963: The Big Freeze continues as weak frontal features bring sleet and snow to parts of Ireland.

1988: Severe storm damage to the seaside resort of Kilkee leads to calls by Clare County Council for emergency State aid. 

2022: Storm Eunice impacts Ireland. The highest sustained wind speeds (106 km/h - 57 kt) and highest gust (137 km/h - 74 kt) are observed at Roches Point, Co. Cork. 86.1 mm of rainfall was recorded at Ardnawark Baresmore, Donegal Town. 80,000 homes and premises suffer power outages.
