Weather conditions on this day down through Irish history.

1933: A two-week cold spell gets underway in Ireland. The spell commenced with high pressure settling over the country before cold northeasterly winds bring subzero temperatures and snowfall.


1963: There is a brief three-day lull in the Big Freeze of 1962-63 as winds veer to the southwest and Atlantic fronts edge in from the west bringing much milder air and heavy rain. 

1978: Snow, ice and subzero temperatures disrupt travel all over the country.
