1903: Storm Ulysses finally moves east over the North Sea having brought hurricane force winds to Ireland resulting in the deaths of 30 people on land at sea. The event was so impactful that James Joyce referenced it in his novel "Ulysses".

1947: There is widespread snowfall in Ireland as one of the most severe winters in Irish recorded history continues.

1990: Flooding impacts Limerick City as high tide coincides with strong winds and heavy rain. Gale force winds extensively damage a caravan park in Salthill, Galway, while many roads in Mayo are impassable due to flooding.
