A chilly start to Wednesday


Wednesday began chilly in many parts of Ireland, but milder in western and southern coastal locations.

The coldest spots at 8am included Dundalk, Louth (-1c) and Lismore, Waterford (-0.7c). Meanwhile, it was 1.3c in Claremorris in County Mayo, while Mace Head in neighbouring County Galway is a positively balmy 7.9c. 

A dry day ahead with sunny spells in all locations after early morning cloud burns off. Top temps of 6 to 9c in light southwesterly winds, turning southerly later. A colder night ahead.
